Haematology

As already stated in the general pathology overview, haematology covers diseases of the blood and bone marrow such as polycythaemias and cytopenias, malignant diseases, clotting disorders, transfusion medicine and investigations relating to blood and bone marrow. Definitely know your anaemias as well as you can, and also focus on transfusion medicine. Leukaemias are also important, and in terms of Lymphomas follow Dr. Hughes-Davies advice on what you ought to know (he discusses this in an oncology lecture during R&I week).
