Year 2

YEAR 2 of clinical studies (STAGE 2 in Cambridge)

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE COURSE STRUCTURE HAS CHANGED SINCE THEN

The second clinical year consists of several 8 week placements in different specialties and a massive pathology syllabus.

On the graduate course, the placements are paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, NRO (standing for neurology, rheumatology and orthopaedics) and MAD (major adult diseases, i.e. cardiology and respiratory medicine and surgery, infectious diseases, genito-urinary medicine and oncology). On the undergraduate course, there is an additional psychiatry placement, which the grads do during the final year.

Each placement apart from MAD also has a 2-week GP component. In-between the placements, there is a week of lectures and seminars called R& I week (Review and Integration).

For information about the individual placements, R&I weeks and pathology, please visit the separate sub-sites from the main menu.
